The gulfstream water starts its gradual drift inshore pushed by the northeast summer winds. This causes some of the sportfish to scatter. This inshore drift will continue until September. This is a good news - bad news situation. The good news is that you will be able to catch the trophy fish closer to shore. The bad news is that the fish will begin to scatter and we may have to search for them. The sailfish, wahoo and dolphin can be caught in the all day area. The amberjack and barracuda will take up residence on the inshore wrecks and manmade reefs. The king mackerel, little tunny, cobia and spanish mackerel can be caught from the shoreline to the edge of the gulfstream.
